Tri-Met. It's a pretty nice transportation system. From downtown it's a quick train & elevator ride to the Zoo and Forest Park.

Portland SMB owners

Jeff

Did a quick search on the PDXBus App for the closest place to catch TriMet, http://www.trimet.org. There is not a bus stop that is within walking distance of VS. There is a stop on Pacific Highway. The folks at VS may be able to drop you off near it. The bus will take you straight to downtown Portland. Here is the itinerary.

From: 19400 SW PACIFIC HWY (Washington Co.)
To: DOWNTOWN
Depart after: 1/30/12 7:41 AM

Starting at 19400 SW PACIFIC HWY (Washington Co.)
Walk to 20200 Block SW Pacific Hwy (ID 8954)
7:59 AM Board 12 Barbur/Sandy Blvd to Gresham TC via Portland City Ctr
8:55 AM get off at SW 6th & Jefferson (ID 7765)

Scheduled travel time: 56 min.

Fare: Adult: $2.40
Honored Citizen: $1.00
Youth/Student: $1.50

Hope this helps.

Re: Portland SMB owners

You could always head out to McMinnville and check out the Spruce Goose at the Evergreen Aviation and space museum. It would probably cost you a cab ride.

Re: Portland SMB owners

Thanks for great suggestions. I didnt know there is a car rental shop in TUALATIN in case I need one. That's easy enough. Since I am not coming down with my family, the waterpark has to be on our next visit. Getting to Oregon seems to non issue at this point, and I just need to figure out what I should do in Oregon for a few hours....

The Tualatin chamber (I'm on the board) has a free shuttle that will take you to the train. They run it for all the industrial shops by VS. I'd be happy to take you nearby also as my shop (la-z-boy) is less than a mile from there. You could do double duty by checking out another rig.

Re: Portland SMB owners

Dont rule out a GTRV van either. Their pop top is syperior with a wide glass overhang and you can walk on it! I'm a few hrs north in Olympia. I get down to Portland every month or 2.
