Potties and insurance
I am looking to insure a rig with no marine toilet, just a porta-potty. It has all the other amenities though (sleeping area, kitchen, heat)
Most of the companies where I am pursuing a quote either ask up front if there is a toilet or have a check box at the end confirming that there is one.
These included Geico, Good Sam's, and Progressive. Based on other threads, I know SMB owners have gotten insurance at least through Progressive. Do you all just consider the Porta-P as an on board toilet?
It seems to me that they are just looking to make sure you have an actual RV and not a cargo van with sleeping bag, but I don't know for sure....
Any experience shared is much appreciated.

Re: Potties and insurance
Porta qualifies as a toilet.

Re: Potties and insurance
Thanks.
It is hard to go round and round with an insurance rep that doesn't know much about these. I needed better footing. Got a quote from Progressive and I'll probably just go through them.

Re: Potties and insurance
That's strange cause I was told it had to have a black water tank. Maybe you can consider the porta pottie has a black water tank?

Re: Potties and insurance
State Farm took me with only a porta potty. It took about 4 months and as many "corrections" to the policy to finally get an RV rate but they did come through in the end.

Re: Potties and insurance
At the time GMAC signed me off w/o any black water tank or porta pottie. They are now General National IIRC. Still with em.

Re: Potties and insurance
Search around here... Many misadventures. I had to drop CSAA cuz they don't do RVs, and ended up going with Safeco.switching to
