Rear swingout options

Hi Gang,

I was wondering if there are rear swing out options Im missing. I love the Aluminess rear bumper with swingouts and box however i dont plan on running flares and I think it will just look too wide in the rear.

Is there other options for similar set up? I know aluminess makes just tire carrier and custom swingout box that work with stock rear bumper so thats an option. Any other offerings, reliable custom builds etc. Im looking for something similar to the attched photos but not diamond plated and a smaller box. The most i plan on carrying is minimal recovery gear, maybe a honda EU 2000i and a bit of firewood

I really like there undercover winch bumper. The rear bumper offerings aren't quite what I'm looking for

FYI - I'd contacted aluminess about this exact system a couple of weeks ago. Here is what they said via email:

The biggest difference between the 2 solutions is the weight capacity of each arm. The stand alone swing arm has a weight limit of 80 lbs, while the full bumper has a limit of 150 lbs. Depending upon how much you are planning on carrying, this may be a deciding factor.
Here are the pictures they sent me:

Something to keep in mind, if the swing arm can only handle 80lbs, the smaller Aluminess Galley box weighs around 35-40lbs. So if you put a 45lb generator in there you are already at or over the recommended capacity of the swing arm. Depending on your security needs the Aluminess Standard Open box with a waterproof cargo bag strapped to it may be a way to increase your cargo carrying ability.(firewood, recovery gear)

I am thinking about the swing arm with open box idea myself, since I already have the spare tire carrier on the drivers side. It would get me all the functionality I need for a fraction of the cost of the Aluminess rear bumper with swing arms.

I wish I had the time and resources to do multiple illking.

I hunted around for you and for my point of reference to see if anyone was doing spindle style steel bumpers. There may have been some companies like ARB, but I think they stopped when the E-series stopped.

Aluminess has it cornered and they make a fine product. I just decided to try my hand at it. Surely there is an offroad company around that can fab one up for you if you are willing to give them some input and leave the van there so they can work off it.

here's my main support. 1/4" steel, heavy as all get out. Working on the swing arms and then the aluminum bumper itself. This is pretty simple stuff so far.
