I have a 1998 E250 SMB with the ISE hot water heater. Since I've never used it and likely never will, I've decided to remove it for the extra storage space. It looks like a pretty straight forward operation. Any suggestions or words of wisdom?

Thanks!
No words of wisdom about the removal itself as I paid someone to remove ours but I had a lockable door installed in the heater's vent opening and have a wonderful external access storage site now.

Don, Would you mind posting some close up pictures of the door that was installed where your water heater exterior panel was? I'd like to see it. Thanks!
I finally got around to removing the In-Sink-Erator W-152 hot water heater. Detached all water lines removed the sink drain to make more room.
Now, I find the hot water heater is larger than the door opening. It doesn't matter which way I turn the heater, it will not fit. Suggestions?
Are you saying that it is inside a cabinet and will not come out of the exterior hole? If inside a cabinet SMB cabinets are pretty easy to take apart. Just a million or so L brackets.
