Herb, I did not address the restrictor plate. I am going to chase that as a separate issue. IMHO it has nothing to do with the fact SMB plumbed the oil system backwards.
I am a bit confused about the filter plate, from the messages I have read it sounds like AMS has changed the design thus eliminating the little valve and now Jim is suggesting eliminating it from the old ones.
If this is the case I would rather get the new one and do a complete revision of the system that would consist of swapping the lines in and out, changing the filter plate, and new filters, and new oil.
AND then go find a new dirt road and camping spot for a few days.
I agree with you, it is encouraging to see they are acting to assist the owners.
