Re: Saw a new Nissan Van

I'm not too impressed with the looks of the NV either, but I was hoping for better drivetrain, ride/handling, and reliability. I haven't been able to find any good road tests to see the experts' opinions on ride and handling.

This seems to be the most up-to-date picture I've seen. I've been following this conversion & I'm interested in any updates too.

via SMB Facebook

In the rear you can see the rear of the Nissan Van. I wonder if SMB have completed the conversion?

Saw the Nissan conversion at the Pomona CA RV show yesterday. Got to admit it is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. What are they thinking? Seemed way smaller inside than either the Fords or Sprinters. They won't last to long in my worthless opinion.

Oh my. Did you take any picture of the interior?

Re: Saw a new Nissan Van

I finally saw a Nissan van on the road. Some plumber with poor taste.

Lo and behold, it looks worse in person than it does in pictures!

Re: Saw a new Nissan Van

Hi;

I saw my first one on the road yesterday.

I am unimpressed. Someone called it Snoopy cross bred with Nixon. A very fitting comment.

The driver was average sized, but it looked like a slab sided block of cheese compared to him. I guess that means the interior is roomy. Who knows.

It make me wonder who participated in the focus groups to finalize the design.

Nonetheless more competition in this market will lead to more innovation. I can only hope someone learns from Nissan's mistakes.

Regards,

Gavin

Re: Saw a new Nissan Van

OK, since I started this love fest, I'm gonna say something nice about the Nissan. I venture whomever buys one will spend far, far, far less time having it fixed. Right Tom? Right Zeta.

I used to be a VW Syncro guy, so I know about the walk around one does to see what's leaking this time. I have nightmares about the smell of anti-freeze. I'm obsessed with oil temperature and every time something shudders the van, I think it's going to quit--I know what that feels like too.

I love the rig, but Nissan will probably make more happier SMBers than Ford did.
