I especially like the SCT option to "Remove...vehicle's speed limiter". That's been a vexing thing ever since I got the van. It's a bitch when I pass a slow mover on two-lane 395 north of Adelanto and hit the limit in the opposing lane of traffic with headlights coming at me fast! Looks like I'll be getting the SCT Livewire and see what it monitors, then maybe get the ScanGauge if it offers more options. Someone here calls their rig the Money Pit. Indeed. Thanks again.

It can be done a bunch cheaper, if you're interested.
My setup is torque pro app (I see nearly everthing+CELs+ clearing) and the basic 5 Star Tuning (SCT device) w/4 custom maps w/ ability to alter some basic settings including speed limiter.
My total was well under $400 iirc.
Not fancy but effective.

Does torque pro app mean that it's smartphone-based? (don't own one - smartphone, that is - bit of a retrograde, I am). And CELs - these are codes? (I'm new to this terminology.) Am leaning toward just biting the bullet and getting the full package.

Iirc the Torque pro app can be used with a tablet too, and those can be found cheap on CL.
CEL= check engine light, which usually has an associated code attached.

Thx. The education continues... Didn't know what iirc stood for, either, until I looked it up. The acronyms are something else to keep up with these days for this geezer!

Yes! For that reason (passing on 2-lane roads) I got an SCT tuner some years ago (the XF SF3) and a custom tune from 5 Star Tuning to remove the top speed limiter. Otherwise I still use a Scangauge for watching my engine.
