I called them a few months ago and they said I had to be a government agency. I work for a public utility and they still said NO! Crap. I hope things change. I could not get a straight answer of why they will not sell to a public agency much less the public. Seems the better the fuel cans the more safe it would be for everyone.

This might be totally incorrect but someone made the claim that Sceptor was sold out because of Katrina and it hurt the government agencies that also needed them. I really hope that isn't true.

For anyone traveling through Moab you can still get the water cans at Gearheads Outdoor Store on the main drag. I just got 2.

Jeff, the Sceptres I ordered didn't fit. I had to send them back. I was really annoyed, but then someone here put me on to Fisheries Supply in Seattle (800-426-6930). The diesel cans were $18, water, $15 but the shipping was $32 which I thought was alot for empty plastic containers. They weren't Sceptre, though.

Somewhere in here I wrote up the box we have.... The Scepters fit 3 abreast.

The box was designed to carry 3 cans and a Honda 2000. With the introduction of the new Aluminess door seal we had to lower he shelf just a tad, and then all is well.
