Good idea Except my fuel door locks and the key is usually with the van keys so if I lose those and need to get in I am in trouble.

Why not carry it with you? Then nobody can try to guess your code while you're gone!

EDIT: Also, the only ones I can find for 2005 is $68 or more... is there a cheaper source?

Re: Secrets?

Here is where I just purchased mine for $65. Even though the web site says good for 08-10 it works no problem for my 06. The guy said as long as I had power locks in the vehicle it should work for it.

Just copy and paste this part number for it and it will work. 7L2Z14A626BA

I suppose another option is to mount it behind the propane door. Still leaning towards behind the spare tire mount, swing the tire open to access the keypad. We'll see.

Re: Secrets?

this wireless keypad rig sounds awesome...anyone know if it would work on a 2000 e-350 that has 'remoteless' unlock?

It looks like it only works on vans with a factory installed remote lock. I'm sure you could modify your van to make it work.

Might be easier to buy a new van though!

Re: Secrets?

Installed mine today and super easy to reprogram the van to accept the keypad (it comes with directions). I even have an aftermarket alarm system installed and no problems reprogramming it. I think basically if you have a key fob with electric unlock lock doors then this remote keypad will work with the van. Call up a Ford parts dept just to be sure.

Re: Secrets?

thanks mike....a new van is certainly an option, but i just filled the water tank yesterday....

i think i'll call that ford place and see. the local dealers in SLC are not really very helpful.

thanks...i'll post the progress on the keypad and/or the final decision on whether or not to get a new van.

cheers.....joe

Re: Secrets?

Just ordered from Tousley, $64 + hidden shipping. Should be the minimum of $9 for Ground (ouch) but it still beats my local dealer price: $114. Good find!

Will test on an 05, factory + Avatal. Just need to dig out my factory fob!

I dug both mine out and both my alarm fobs but I don't really think you need them. When you program it, it doesn't erase them it only adds to what is already in the system. I never reprogrammed my alarm fobs and one of the factory fobs and they still work with the system.
