Having travel off-road 20+ years, my biggest concern is when I hike away from my Ford E250 SMB for any extended period of time. For example, when it is left at a trailhead and i go hiking for the day. Or when I am camping off-road and I go off kayaking.
Over the last couple of years, my SMB has had a break-in and a couple attempted when at trail-heads and empty campgrounds.
What basic security recommendations would be advised to keep my most import items secure? I have a CLUB for both my steering wheel and my gas peddle, and the gas-cap locked.
Thank you

We are allergic to furry things so we use a fan and a transistor radio...fan blows curtains etc. makes it look like there's movement, and the radio (obliviously) makes noise and MAYBE have somebody think there's a person inside...but bottom line is, ya get a dog lol...nobody is safe from those that want to get in and your not there to say something old man like, "Hey get outta here before I call the Cops or something..."

The only people touching our van in recent years is the cops! Lol
Once in a while a concerned person (often a bit too concerned) calls the cops and says we have a dog in a hot van. One the van is white, always parked in shade, and two there is a fan system for our dog plus lots of windows open with shades and screens.
Haven't gotten a ticket yet but the person responding is usually impressed once they see my security dog system
