SMB Covers- What is the best waterproof cover for my SMB?
Hi
I need help with a brand, style, size, straps and just the general wisdom regarding protecting the most important member of my family in the winter -(not from snow- just rain and elements)
SMB: Ford E-250 1998 (not extended) 18 ft long, 84 inches high, 6 feet wide with Penthouse Pop top. No racks, extened bumpers, ladders or anything "sticking out" (well the antena- but that I can remove)
Any ideas from the SMB brotherhood ?
I appreciate your input!
Thanks,
Wanderbus

Re: SMB Covers- What is the best waterproof cover for my SM
I think a temporary garage like this:

Is better protection than a car cover. The added bonus of being able to get to the van, load it, work on it, etc. No scratches from dirt in the cover.

Mike have you ever found out how long those things last? I'd like one of em for my trailer. The lousy covers last maybe 2 years and the friggin cats love to sharpen their claws on the covers...not to mention every cover I've ever used leaks. I'm not saying there aren't some that don't.

SMB Covers- What is the best waterproof cover for my SMB?
I would have loved to have gone that route but do not have enough space in my yard/driveway. Had to go with a giant bag. Will be interesting to see how it well it works.

Re: SMB Covers- What is the best waterproof cover for my SM
Thanks for the input-
I would like my SMB to have its own garage but a "giant bag" as Laurie put it is the only choice-
Anyone ever seen one or used one of these: http://www.coversuperstore.com/UltraGua ... -19-45782/
Look pretty good,

That's the problem with buying something on the Internet; you can't see the product first.
Let me know if you find something that works because I need to cover my van too.

Re: SMB Covers- What is the best waterproof cover for my SM
Hi Wanderbus,
We purchased the following last year and have been pleased with it. It is holding up well. The straps keep it from flapping in the wind which can cause wear. Although not waterproof (breathable), it does prevent southern California sun damage and keeps it clean between ventures. There is a 4th strap that goes around the back but was off when I took these photos so we could load from the back for an upcoming trip.
