SMB Vandalism

Woke up to find this 'nice' surprise to my SMB this morning. We can't really figure out what hit it. There is no damage to the aluminess bumper or anywhere else on the body. The dent doesn't look like a rock but maybe a bat or someone with a ladder on top of their truck backing into the driveway? What a pisser.

Re: SMB Vandalism

Not to poke fun at your situation, I would be royally pissed, but it looks sort of like a face.

[EDIT: BTW, your penthouse roof looks like its offset to the passenger's side]

I noticed the face too. Maybe I'll get a sharpie and draw ears on it before the body shop gets it!

The top is off to the side as I had recently put the top up to clean it and was lazy about putting it down.

Re: SMB Vandalism

major bummer. sorry to hear/see that
very strange being the van was parked in your own driveway.
seems a little high up for a baseball bat based on your pic.
good luck with that.

Re: SMB Vandalism

Not to poke fun either, but you only show up when there is a body dent?

Re: SMB Vandalism

Not to be too cynical, but short of checking on the neighbors vehicles and stuff you've seen them put on top of their vehicles there's not much else you can do to figure this one out. I've seen folks back into things and drive off without even realizing they hit anything. I'm thinking kyaks...

Re: SMB Vandalism

I put a similar dent on our SMB while in the Copper Canyon in Mexico. It was a narrow road with a rock wall on one side and I was trying to back up adjacent to that wall to provide more room for someone to pass. I heard the crash but thought I hit something with the bumper, not realizing until later that it was a protruding rock 7 feet up.

The only good news is that the body shop was able to fix it perfectly without removing anything on the inside...
