If that fails you can drill out the tumblers then the cylinder will rotate to run position and then depress retaining pin and remove cylinder. You can also drive the retaining pin in as much as you can with small center punch or nail set then using a slide hammer (dent puller) inserted into the ignition cylinder with a COARSE screw " bump " out the cylinder. NOTE: this may cause damage to the column because the retaining pin isn't fully depressed . And lastly here is the FORD procedure ...........
That worked. I'm back on the road!

Re: Someone tried to steal my SMB last night.

It's not pretty but it's working.

I gotta work some more to get the trim pieces back in place the right way. Just happy I can drive it again. Taking it to work tomorrow to plug in and give the new batts a good charge.

Re: Someone tried to steal my SMB last night.

Don't you just wish you had a baseball bat or (something with a little powder), and you were standing outside the door when they poked their out of the door to get out. Freaking thieves really piss me off. But then you would have been in jail and sued for assault with a deadly weapon and he would be at Starbucks buying a latte.

(Edit)
Sorry all, when I wrote this it had been a long day!!

Re: Someone tried to steal my SMB last night.

Can anyone share some basics of installing a starter cut-off switch or fuel pump cutoff switch? Like where are the relays located, etc?

These certainly wouldn't hurt as far as theft deterrents go.......

Re: Someone tried to steal my SMB last night.

There is a fuel cutoff behind the kick panel on the passenger side. It would be nice to figure out how to trigger it without turning the van upside down...

Yes. Yes I do. Actually, it'd be better if I was sleeping in the van because that would then be considered a home invasion. "Officer, I was in fear for my life."

Jack, How do you know about a fuel cutoff switch behind the pass. kick panel. I would like to find this. Have you actually seen this? Pat 07 e-350.

I happened to have had my head in the passenger footwell on my 08 E350 last weekend......on the plastic cover in the footwell (to the right of the passenger's right foot, in front of the door under the dash) the cover is marked with "fuel cutoff relay" or something like that.....it's behind this cover.

I'm assuming that it's used to kill the fuel pump when working on the vehicle with the fuel rail/injectors un-bolted so you don't end up spraying gasoline all over the engine compartment if some one turns the key....
