Spare tire water tank

Has anyone attempted to use this water tank and mount it to the spare tire area on an Econoline RB?

This is the link to the tank on Agile Offroad's site.

The product description says the tank is designed to fit the "Sprinter spare tire carrier" which makes me think it would take some mods to work in the Econoline spare carrier.

Below is a link for containers that should work without mods, but not designed to be plumbed into a water system.

I think the size would work in the spare location, I took some measurements. I would just need to find a way to mount it so it's secure on rough terrain. I'm planning on plumbing to the water system. The van is only used in milder climates, so not too worried about freezing.

Yeah, I think I misread your original question as wanting to use the RB hardware including the cable lift.

I have 2 Icon tanks, each 15 gal, up in the old spare tire space on my E350 EB. They fit fine once you cut out all the original spare tire hardware. They are strapped together and held in by the trailer hitch and steel bars bolted to the frame rails.

Do you have any pictures? I’m about to do the same thing. Plumb it to the 24 gal tank I have. Im a little concerned about cutting out the spare tire structure as it is actually structural. I was planning on bolting on new cross members to hold the tank up and provide structural support. You for 30 gals up in that space. ?

I went with a Ujoint rear skid plate kit on my 2008 EB. Put a LP tank, 12 gallon water tank w/pump and a 12v DC water heater just to take the edge off. Its just for outdoor rinse offs. I'm happy with it all but if i was doing it again I'd go smaller on the LP tank and bigger on the water tank.
