We did not put insulation behind the mirror, but it is a good idea. It has not had an issue cooking on top of the door galley.

That is an awesome idea to have a mirror inside to use. Brilliant! Thanks for the ideas guys. Only issue now is finding the plastic trim pieces. The only local scrap yard is tiny and never has passanger vans. Out of them maybe 100 cars that they have in the lot. Always cargo work vans that are beat up and gutted.

We got the mirror off ebay to get the size we wanted.
