Sportsmobile / Class B size regrets.

I have been dreaming / planing a Sprinter RV for a while now.

My wife has concerns. We will be traveling with 4 dogs.

Any regrets on your size size decision?

I have a RB50 layout E-350 SMB with a wife and 1.5 yo daughter. It actually fits us pretty well sleeping wise. Of course I'd love to have some more space, shower, bathroom and storage but the cool factor outweighs all that for now. We actually crammed 7 people in there last weekend for a couple hours during a rain storm in Moab if you can believe that! When I get a little older/tired I"m sure I'll be looking for a Class C 4x4.

I have had class A , class c and travel trailers. I would not trade my van for any of them back. I would say if you have 4 mastiffs you will probably be cramped if you have 4 lap dogs you will be fine. We traveled for 10 yrs with 130 lb lab who went everywhere with us he had his spot and we had ours it worked well but he was very well behaved.

I agree with Jim -- except for being "cramped" with four Mastiffs. It's more like an impossibility. I know he wasn't being literal but it reminded me of an English Mastiff we had decades ago before we got into RV camping. At just over 200 pounds he took up a huge amount of floor space wherever he plopped down. He took up the entire cargo area of a station wagon.

By comparison two small (18-20 pounds each) lap dogs took up almost no room in a small class C. And our 40-pound best friend traveled with us all over in our van camper. Our home built is pretty open so we could all move around easily, and when needed we could ask him to move to a different spot. He loved traveling and we enjoyed his company.

Had it been four dogs his size I'd say it would have been too much for us if trips were up to 2 weeks in duration like many of ours.

Only Class A I would replace my SMB with……..

all kidding aside, get the extended Sprinter and you will have gobs of room.
They are huge……

Whatever choice you make is going to be great and you'll be so glad you opted for a class B
over the others.

I travel with 3 dogs in that size range in an EB. Crates are stacked in the "garage" (the open area at the back). I just finished a 10 day trip and have gone as long as two months straight. No complaints. I definitely would not trade my van for a larger RV.

The reason I travel is to do interesting things with my dogs in interesting places, and I invest a lot of time and effort training my dogs to make this an enjoyable experience. If you want to make it work, I'm sure you can.
