Every time I see one of these threads I watch it and hope for a post like that!
Very glad you got your van back, sorry it's not in better shape.

99% of burners would help find it, not steal it. That event is for folks with money. Damn homeless is out of control in the bay and surrounding. Stoked you got your rig back. Good interior shampoo and you'll be back out there.

Stole the speakers!? The panels they destroyed are worth multiples more.

X2. Ravelco & Spot Trace. One to prevent theft, the other just in case to track the vehicle.

Glad you got it back!

Would you mind sharing how they broke into your van? I've been thinking through security leading up to an extended trip in my van and am curious what method they used to break in.

Thanks

Surprisingly easily, it seems. First they forced one of the door locks opened, bending the metal surrounding the lock. Then they forcefully ripped off the ignition lock and steering lock. This part just looked like brute force. They likely then just used a screwdriver to start the van.

I'm definitely going with a car alarm, revelco, and spot trace (or similar device) once she's repaired. If you love your Sportsmobile, don't let what happened to me happen to you, and don't let these a**holes win! Get some anti-theft.
