Sportsmobile Table

I have a 2003 Ford RB50 with a penthouse top that I bought new from Fresno. We love our Sportsmobile. We've retired and spend three to four months a year on the road. The one thing I don't like is the table. The three-part table is small (16” x 26”), unstable, difficult to use and takes up too much room to store.

We bought a folding table from Sam's Club, I've seen the same thing at Camping World for $19.99. This table has a thick plastic top and tubular metal folding legs kind of like an ironing board. It's made by Lifetime, 19 1/2" by 30", it has four heights, 21,24,26 and 28". It's stable, folds up and stores behind the rear seat. You can move it around without fear of it collapsing.

We’ve been using it for a year, it works great. It’s funny how little things like this make life easier.

Good idea. Have a couple Lifetime tables at home and they're great.

Its great you found something that works for you but I am just curious, where did you have your SMB table stored? Ours fits right under the bench seat. We keep the legs in the barn door foot-well pocket. Easy to get out and put away. Use it on every trip and never had any problem with stability.

Ditto, plus for me having it behind the seat which goes up and down a lot as it's our main bed would make it not work. But that's what is cool about these vans, you work up your own system that works for you and it's all good!

Im also a bit nervous about anything metal behind the seat. On our rig, there is a direct path down to the isolator, load center, and converter. I don't like sparks!

The electrical stuff on my van is on the passenger side. When folded the table part has only plastic exposed. Important to put the table behind the seat with table portion on the passenger side.

For us this works great.

I notice you have a number of wire pulls on doors. This one is on the hinge side. What's the story with that?

Actually that would be a great place to secure something in that corner

My guess is porta-potti secured between the two pulls in that photo, with a bungee.
