Don't expect much!

Ordered a door talon from them 2 weeks ago. They didn't send all the parts. They won't return emails. They sent me an automated email to review the product. Said "cool product, horrible customer service". Needless to say, it was not published.

Went to Sportsmobilestore.com today and got a “server not found” error. I guess it’s done. :-(

I could have sworn a few months ago I read, that the guy who ran the SMw shop was going to take over that shop, rename it, make it his own and keep making camper Van's. I can't find where I read that

Glad to hear that. I have a deposit down on a classic and my last conversation with SM was this past summer. they told me not to expect any correspondence from them until mid 2021.....

Hi Sconlin,

With regard to your Classic build; our experience with Team SMB-West has been A+ with the design, build, and associated communication for our Classic. We're customer #5 and are scheduled to take delivery in March.

If you'd like to chat feel free to PM me with your contact info.

Since our order was in early (first prototype early) we've gotten to know Team SMB West relatively well and score them A+ through the process.

They've been frank on product birthing problems big and small. Made available the engineering/manufacturing engineering team for hours at a time on the factory floor while I crawled in and under prototypes and production units with them.

I don't see any reason why you wouldn't have a like-positive experience. Especially now that the Classic is in full production and they're now running 3 or 4 down the line at a time.

Our experience during the transition from Sportsmobile West to a new entity has been a non-event and didn't affect our build or communication.

Best,

Em -

The article posted by Lilnuts2 above describes that more. It sounds like he has built a Sprinter conversion as a demo so far.

I am interested in a Classic but it seems no one in Fresno is taking any orders for now.
