Why can't you hear any updates from them for 4+ months? Do they have nothing to communicate until then?

6 + months there is nothing to talk about . You can track your chassis build on Fords site once you get your VIN SMB used Visalia ford for my order . I even tried to talk to Quigley on some things but because chassis was not on site conversations only go so far. As to SMB your $2500 deposit gets your chassis ordered and locks in your order to current pricing model. The conversations start and end with your 20 % deposit of total build cost and a signed work order. Its really the most efficient way to completion . At least this was the way under the BYO format.

Because Jonathan Feld/SMBWest separated from SMB parent there is a period of silence/non-compete/change....
I am a happy customer twice and expect many more years of great service since it is the same guys doing great work under a new name.

Great work? Seems to be mixed results over the long term as seen on these forums. YMMV.
Will be interesting to see if they differentiate themselves from SMB West.

Seems like Field Van is live! Also, the old online store is back under their new name.

So I wonder if they'd allow us to have one of those decals? Same guys built the previous Vans (like my 2006)... Wouldn't be any different than having dual citizenship.

Lol. I've been to a few shows etc. where SMB was set up and I can definitely tell you the Field family likes their schwag. I bet they would give em to you if they have them. I have many, many SMB goodies from them, koozies, stickers, patches, probably a hat, chap-stick, etc. All giveaways from their displays.

I did enjoy the promo video of the camping fieldvan produced cause I've been to those areas many times.

I've had a good experience with the old SMB and figure Field Van will follow the same trail.

I do wish them luck in the upcoming years.
