2006 Ford E-250 conversion. The under floor condenser unit became clogged with sand/gravel mud. Washed out the best I could, but the motor unit is locked up and blowing the fuse. This is a Starcool system with a Danhard condenser/fan unit. Has anyone run into to this problem and have a recommendation on how to proceed. I will be contacting SMB and Danhard, but I thought I might get some of your thoughts before proceeding.
Thanks,
Bro
It has happened to me as well. Usually it's a rock in the bottom that freezes the blade. Make sure it's all clear in the cage. If the motor burned SMB might be able to supply a replacement. I can ask my A/C guy where to find a motor if SMB doesn't have them anymore.

Check for damaged wires. SMB ran the wires on ours on the outside of the condenser box/grating.
When I got ours, the PO had run over some rocks and crushed the wires against the box. When the A/C was on, the body of the van became electrically charged.

Thanks, I have cleared the fan blade area but I think the damage may have been done before I realized the problem. The wiring looks fine. I pass on the results after discussions with SMB.
Danhard has configured a new shroud/fan assembly and it's on the way to me. Excellent customer service and the cost reasonable. If you need some help, ask for Mark
Any news on this one? I spent the evening trying to clean my fan but I think the damage is done.
My fan will come on and run for about 2 minutes. Then, it starts to slllloooooowwwww down until it stops.
Getting the fan and housing off to have a look in there was a PITA. But while it was off I was able to spray some Frost King cleaner in there and get everything cleaned up nice.
I thought I had fixed it. At least the fuse didn't blow. But again, the fan just slowly dies.
