Starcool Compressor Issue

This is my first post so please be kind. I have a 1999 E350 RB SMB. The OEM A/C is in good shape and working well after a new compressor and high pressure line. I use the Starcool fan when I operate the OEM dashboard A/C. I know how to operate my 110V Starcool system. The problem is the 110V compressor is very loud. It is making a loud "growling' sound. I am hesitant to keep the compressor running for fear of damaging the unit. Therefore, i cannot comment on whether or not it is producing cool air. My mechanic is sharp on A/C but this system is outside of his knowledge. I am wondering if anyone else has had a problem like this and what the resolution was. Or, does anyone have any suggestions about what the cause might be. Allegedley these compressors rarely fail and I am hoping that is the case here. I am just south of San Francisco but have not been able to find any A/C resources here that are familiar with this system.

Go to Alouis Radiator in San Francisco, I'm gonna say McAllister/Central but I might be off a block or two. They should be able to help you out.

The 110 compressor is kinda noisy especially when it cycles on. Louder than some window types.

Can't argue with this recommendation. They started helping me with my massive Starcool mess shortly before my first van went missing. They're not the cheapest, but you don't want the cheapest for this type of diagnosis/project. They've been around for over 60 years.

Finding anyone familiar with Starcool systems will be almost impossible but, if you've got the schematic in your SMB binder, that would certainly help.
