Stolen in SF: 96 Dodge SMB

Hey folks,

Hit some SMB Facebook groups earlier this week but forgot to post on the forums... my van was stolen this past Sunday at 6:30AM in the Inner Richmond

If anyone sees it around, hit me up or call the police and let them know -- report is filed with the SFPD.

For the only time in my life, I didn't hate the SFMTA as I found the van via parking ticket! Looks to be in surprisingly good shape other than a couple of locks.

Sounds like fortune favored you! The fact that half the rig isn't missing has to be a huge relief - Glad it turned out as well as it did. Now invest in a Ravelco.

Haha yes, they are on my list. Do you have one? Good experience?

Huge relief -- I expected it to be totally trashed.

@crholic great that you got your van back. I had my camper broken into last Nov in SF. I had left a drill out on the back seat….. doh!!. Worryingly they tried to Hotwire it but failed so after fixing window & locks I contacted & installed Ravelco. Super professional to deal, offer a AAA discount. Worth it for the peace of mind.

I do have one, and the guy that drove over a 100 miles (lived in norther PA) to install it was very professional in both communication and installation.

Many may comment its too expensive, but if you factor in the expected hassles I would endure to replace/repair everything thieves unbolt or steal (my time, coordinating delivery, potential Insurance depreciating replacement cost for age/use, stuff missing that you would have to show proof of to an Insurance company, deductible, etc.) compounded by the simple aggravation of waiting to see if it would be recovered and in what shape (as you just experienced) - I would say the Ravelco IS very affordable and unfortunately a necessary investment.
