Stupid Question From a New Owner

Uh....just to clarify-when referring to "black" or "gray" water tanks, it is not referring to the physical color of the tank itself, rather, it refers to what goes in them....."gray" being sink/shower water, "black", well, you get the idea.

To be more specific: "gray water"=sink/shower/bath drain, "black water"=crapper.

Re: Stupid Question From a New Owner

I know that the actual color of the tank plastic doesn't matter, but I only have the one tank that everything empties into. Am I supposed to have 2 tanks?

Re: Stupid Question From a New Owner

Typically the gray water tank is separate from the black tank. My gray tank is in the wall under the sink. It also has a drain valve threaded for a discharge using a garden type hose... nothing like what a true black water tank has. Not saying you can't push sink water into a waste water tank along with...

Re: Stupid Question From a New Owner

Thanks, Dave. I only have one drain, like your gray tank does. I have a Macerator on mine, so everything gets pulverized small enough to go through a garden hose.

Re: Stupid Question From a New Owner

Is it correct to state that you only have a black water tank if you have a flushing toilet right? Otherwise yo would only have a gray tank for the sink….AND, small garden hose type release drain (with handle) for gray, larger that shop van hose outlet (with handle) for black...
