suspension mods

I'm going to replace the front coils and rear leafs. Working with Deaver on the rear. The current cheap rear setup is sitting on a 5 3/4" block. Does measuring the block give you the lift number, in this case basically a 6" lift? thnx

If you tell Dever you want to eliminate a 6 inch block,
You should be fine and end up with close to the current ride height.

I'm really adamant about getting the van level, the rear squat bugs me bigly

It’s hard to get it exact. I had to add a shim under the rear leafs to get it just right.

If you're in socal, might be worth calling Weldtec to see if they can help you. They offer custom rear packs but I dont remember if it's Deaver.

Weldtec uses Atlas Spring and to be honest, I've been kinda disappointed with mine. I've had good luck with Atlas in the past on oddball custom springs, but these springs didn't have enough arch, the rate is too high, and the main leaf is shorter than ideal. U-joint also uses Atlas, but their leafs are significantly different. Might be better off going direct.

I too have been bugged from day 1 by my "perception" of the rear squatting. I say perception because i put a laser on it the other day and the body style crease (whatever you call it) that runs the length was perfectly level. The front wheel wells are cut higher than the rear and gives the look of being higher over the front tire because they are. But I'm with you, i may also raise the rear to offset the look even if the body then becomes unlevel.

I agree the wheel wells throw you off and the side creases are all running non parallel to the ground but I was in Reno at Field Van and Jonny has a 2008 SMB that he uses and its clearly "more level" than mine. Measuring off the body weld at the bottom between the rear well and the front well its about 1 1/2 inches. So I'm yanking the block and having Deaver build a full curve rear. The can shim it when I have them put it in to get the visuals right.

I'm going through the same thing. See other thread ( do all EBs sagg). I have Atlas from UJ actually my 2nd set from him. I was sagging really bad on the 2nd set of Atlas as well. On my way back from AK. Standens in Alberta recommend 2 more leafs. So got I 10 now. The sagg improved a little but seems to be returning. I'm adding a 3 or 4" block I guess on another attempt to level this beast? I think from weldtech?
