Re: TGTBT
Sportsmobile told me the Penthouse canvas is regular convertible top material.
So, it should be available in many colors (white, tan, blue, black, green, gold, red and more) to suit your imagination and pocketbook. SMB seems to have standarized on tan, so a different color may be extra cost.

Re: TGTBT
@Rockbender... see what you started Bro! Yep, we got rid of many squeeks and rattles, but the best noise reduction is not hearing much outside the van when camping. Tire roar is reduced in the house a bunch. These were huge improvements. We haven't gotten to test yet with the cab interior redo, but expect improvement there also. The 7.3 sounds good to us, so I don't seek much change there, I like to hear what the van is doing and have avoided some problematic breakdowns by just listening.
@Chop... we'll be around that weekend for sure, so please do drop in!
@catman... love the seat, prolly gotta get one of the new curvy porta-potti's to make it fit, so we'll just glue some real cowhide to the lid for now... (Christine come back, don't run away, hey Christine, wait up, can't we just talk about the idea a minute?)
@vwman and Mike... that answered that! I'll be saving up for a new PH w/ black material. Awesome, and thanks to y'all for that info!
@Spenard... we are building the interior from bottom up, and kinda planning/problem solving as we go. I am wanting to put an all-new PH and the link from vwteleman answered the exterior fabric question, so, we'll prolly go all the way in black to the ceiling. We are going in with black carpet as cab headliner as I write this.
@everyone... seems like a lot of black throughout, some of that is offset by other equipment/bedding/baggage/lighting, but the more we do, the more I like it. A peculiar advantage to the black interior is that you can't look into the van through the windows and see much of anything.

Then you can now call your van "The Event Horizon"
In general relativity, an event horizon is a boundary in spacetime beyond which events cannot affect an outside observer.
So in a sense, you can do anything inside and nobody will know
[Ediit] forgot to add it's the point of no return on the edge of a Black Hole.

Re: TGTBT
Christine and Marc...
That was van-damn-tastic!!!
Definitely worth the wait. Great video once again, I thoroughly enjoyed both of them.
Your remodel is very utilitarian, yet functional. I have been contemplating something very similar. I just need to get the courage. Or maybe you can convince Ray he wants to vacation to San Diego...
Thanks again to Christine for the movie. It's almost like a mini-series now!

Re: TGTBT
@daveb, Bronc and blu... ~"yep, kinda diggin' it" (as in black hole, get it? huh? get it?)
@Vegas... the product number on the carton sez...B76140024
I found the website to be a bit congested, and hard to sort out preferences, but websites ain't my forte, dontcha know. I found samples locally and had the shopkeep make the order. I first took notice of it's use in commercial and industrial settings as stairstep treadcovers and it is slip-resistant, long-wearing, and easily-cleaned. I possess none of those characteristics

Marc I have seen you with a regular t shirt (not a wife beater) and even a white button shirt on your videos. You seem to stand up just fine holding a beer even after a few and as far as I know you are over 30 so I would say you are selling yourself short as to me I think you have ALL of those qualities.
