We've done an impressive job of thread hijacking here!

Well, I suppose it’s all my fault. It has been entertaining though!
I'm all for getting back on topic.

Ha getting the thread back on track, we had some very gracious help from some SMB owners who just happened to be camping right where our van decided to break down for the night last summer. We pretty much always try to help people out, but will definitely be paying that forward.

I look at these threads somewhat like a conversation one might have around the camp fire that wanders all over. It seems to me that unless there is a specific question or need in the original post, getting a bit off track isn't a big deal but I do know that forum rules want us to stay mostly focused on the original post but as the OP, I think this one is just fine. Thank goodness this isn't Facebook or any of the other social media sites where its normal for the conversation to shift at the first or second post and often times goes way down in the weeds.

... I stumbled onto 2 of the nicest people one night out in the woods and offered our pool at the hot springs to them. They were so gracious that they saved my wife’s life about 3-4 hours later.

Not a happy go lucky story, but it did have a happy ending

Talk about a mic drop!
I remember that post. It still gives me chills, even with the positive ending.

Ha, lol! Wasn’t after a mic drop, but ya...
Read it for the first time in a while when I saw the camping stories thread bumped. Was gonna post a link there, but it had got past the preview window by the time I got around to responding. This thread seems a much better fit.
...And not gonna lie, all the feels from that night bout yanked a few tears out.
