The kindness of random strangers
This forum never fails to amaze me. A week or so ago, I posted that I was interested in a winch cable for sale, but it turned out to be the wrong size and length. A couple days later, someone I've never talked to sent me a message offering to give me a spare cable they had. I gladly accepted and it was in the mail even before I had time to send postage money. It arrived yesterday and looks to be in perfect condition. Thanks so much rescuejg . Hopefully I can pay it forward some day.................

Yep, I've seen a lot of generous gestures in the past 6 years. That's the kind of good will that I've come to appreciate as well - not just hardware items that are shared, but also the vast knowledge & commentary that come from the masses here.
I also find it commendable of you artic to publicly acknowledge such a gesture which otherwise would have gone unnoticed ...helps establish a concept we should/could all aspire to.

Given the general tenor of this site its easy to offer something to another member in the spirit of friendship. I've been glad to share things I don't need or have too many of many times without cost to someone who might put it to good use.
I'm a member of a few other internet forums and by far this is one of my favorites----and I've never intentionally spent a single night in any of my Ford vans.

I too enjoy the kindness of random strangers! I am offering free yard mowing to anyone with time and a mower. I have a lot to do and travel for work so anyone who just loves their new mower or doesn't want to pay a gym to exercise can drop by my place ANY TIME (unless I'm sleeping) and mow away to your heart's content. It's fairly level ground, one semi-aggressive dog and some shaded areas. It is a really prime spot to get that mowing itch out of your system. You'll simply have to provide the manpower, the equipment and the fuel. There is a water hose on the side of the house. While you are hydrating yourself why not water the flower boxes too? I'm probably too busy.
I have a standing offer on Craigslist and FB Marketplace I should probably share here too, why not, the more the merrier!

Lol, well I'm soon going to lose my lawn boy to college so I'm trying it out. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

And it won't drink all your beer or pee in your yard.
