The trailer chased me down

So today I was using my van for work. We has trees to take down at one of my stores so I picked up my sisters huge farm dump trailer and a 12" chipper. We finished the work and I was heading back to drop off the trailer full of wood chips for the farm (10 yards). On the way my brother in-law calls and asks if I can dump it since there was hay mixed in. I say fine totally forgetting that I used my 2" ball for the short haul and not the 2 5/16. I know...... Idiot. Well when I had the hydraulic dump going with the trailer uphill from me and of course if jumped off the hitch and totally plowed into my back door. Not sure why I need to share my stupidity publicly but I bet someone understands. Now off to find a new back door.

I've always found self inflicted wounds are the most painful.

Very true, but I've also found that they are the best learning experiences.

Ouch!! Sorry to hear your news. If it's any consolation to you I have driven into the garage with my bike on the roof. It didn't end well either.

Re: The trailer chased me down

Dang, that sucks. At least the trailer had the good sense to chase you down and not get away .

Re: The trailer chased me down

Just like we have a "What did you do to your SMB today" thread, maybe we need a "You won't believe what I did to my SMB today" thread.

Did this years ago, when I backed up a little too far in my driveway. One of my true bonehead moments. Luckily no damage to anything but the lights and my pride. The lights were replaced with new lights, and my pride eventually healed.

The trailer chased me down

Thanks for the kind words. I like the new thread idea. Picking it up today from Dan's gears with 4:56. I'm pretty excited as it seemed like it was climbing a hill all the time.

Back in the late 60's/early 70's, when I was involved in quick draw competitions, I shot myself in the leg . . . twice. The pain of the humiliation was far greater than the pain from the gunshot. Why twice? At the time I was second fastest in the eleven western states and wanted to continue to compete. Unfortunately, after having shot myself I was nervous, and that slowed me down. And the slower I got the harder I tried to stay competitive . . . hence shooting myself a second time during a competition. And, that, as they say, was that. I still have the scars.
