This Great Forum

Hi;

A note of thanks.

I've been on this forum for a short time. I am here because I found Sportsmobiles as the next logical step after camping in the boonies in my conversion van. (Bed too short...)

I have yet to take delivery of my ancient 1982 Sporty, but will receive it in the next month or so. I have also found a 4x4 van that will make a great platform.

My gratitude stems from two issues:

1- the way the members and admins in this forum work towards the common goal of Sportsmobiling. I've been on forums since they were called bulletin boards and for the life of me I cannot recall a more welcoming, open, intelligent, knowledgeable group of people. Great informative posts with lots of photos. True members in every sense of the word. No snide comments, sarcasm, and trolling. Dedication, dedication, dedication!

2- I posted the need for a set of "eyes" to look at the 4x4 van. Two members immediately offered to look at it. No reluctance to inspect it for me; a complete stranger. These two people live 2400 miles from me in another country and likely may never meet me. One in fact lives 1/2 a mile from the van. He contacted the seller and sent me 3 megs of photos. On a Sunday. Incredible devotion to Sportsmobiling and a true volunteer. He was unwilling to give me a price for his time!

Mr. Volunteer- I hope I have the chance to meet you and show you what I build. What I build because of your spirit of helping others.

I am truly impressed every time I log into this forum.

Thank you.

Regards,

Gavin
