Thule-resale price maintenance and dealer discipline?

I was about to spend a good sum on a Thule roof rack system from a company called Rack Attack last night (tracks, towers, bars, hulllivator, locks, etc). They seemed to have all the pieces I needed and the prices were pretty good. Also, I preferred to buy it all in one shop to keep shipping and warranty stuff simple.

On a two of items, I found a significantly cheaper price items from another online retailer. So (stupidly) I emailed and told them I wanted to place an order, and asked if they would match the lower prices on two of the items.

They wrote back this morning saying they would gladly match the other prices but that I was mistaken about what those prices were. Sure enough, the second store had raised their prices back up to par with everyone else.

I suspect if you don't keep your prices up to the suggested level, you can't be an authorized dealer.

I should have known better. Fortunately, most of this stuff is much cheaper on Craigslist. It just takes more time.

I have the older rail type yakima rack on my SMB. I ordered a new set 2crossbars/ 4 towers / 4 locks through riversportoutfitters.com for 106.0 delivered. It was the best price I could find.

Don't know if there are REI's near your locations. REI has a "Garage Sale" once every 6 months or so and they sell returned usable items for a real steal. I purchased an upright bike rack for $40.00. Make sure to be there early.

I have a Thule system and would like to mount it on my SMB. What is the best way to accomplish this? Any suggestions would be appreciated,

I believe John K gave a good description on that installation in a previous thread
