Tire size help needed!!

I just purchased new Toyo AT's 35x12.50R18's but they look to be smaller then the 35s I had on before, everyone keeps telling me they look smaller as well. Les Schwab is going to take care of me but my only option are Toyo MT's in 37x12.50R18's. I must say that the ride difference between my old MTs vs the Toyo ATs is amazing!

Old tires

New tires

Please all opinions are welcome...
Thanks
Buck

Re: Tire size help needed!!

I pretty much did the same thing - went from 315/75/16 MT's to 295 Toyo AT's. The only thing the muds did better for what we do was 'look aggressive'. Your newer Toyo AT's have some nice side lugs too that give it a bit better look than a straight up highway tire.

For me, function over fashion wins! Stick with the AT's - it will just take a few days to get used to not seeing those big knobs there.

Of course if you're bored, have Schwab's mount up a 37 and send us a photo!

I admit, I'd be distracted by the tire size vs. lift that you have in the pix... sigh... get out the wallet

For the aesthetics, it needs more tire or less lift.

But I'm with rockbender; screw fashion and go with what works for you.

Re: Tire size help needed!!

OK thanks for the reply, just got off the phone with Schwabs only going to cost me $257.00 more then $1290.00 originally spent for 37x13.50R18's MT's,
Thanks

Re: Tire size help needed!!

tire sizing is not universal. meaning one companies 275/75/16 has the potential to be an inch wider and an inch taller than another companies 275/75/16. this goes across the board for all tires, including treadwear. its messed up.

my first impression was that your tires looked smaller as well, but was hard to tell in the original pix i looked at.

i have the atII's as well. i like'em so far, but nothing to really compare them to yet since the tires the van came with were dead when purchased, lol.
