TreadWright Tires

Anyone have any experience with TreadWright Tires on their SMB's or other rigs? Anybody hear or know the pros and cons on these tires?

Re: TreadWright Tires

I'd be glad to test them on my F250 or Jeep if someone wants to send me a set!

That said, looks scary and unsafe for an offroad tire... big trucks (retreads) run high pressure all the time. I'd hate to think what would happen to this tire and the retread glue when aired down.

Re: TreadWright Tires

4Wheeler magazine tested them out. Sounds fairly promising. http://www.fourwheeler.com/techartic..._ko/index.html

They also get fairly good reviews on the Expo forum.

I will probably try a set on my 4WD 96 Club Wagon. Until I am leaving the suspension and final wheel selection done until I have finished the interior and can get it weighed. So an inexpensive set of tires to get me through until that is done should be OK.

We did use a lot of retreads on our earthmoving (trucks, scrapers, graders and pickups) equipment and that was both high and low pressures depending on the application. Never had any major issues. Reality is that any tire run at a low enough pressure to allow heat buildup and flex in the carcass runs the risk of delaminating. I would probably trust the quality control on the American retreads over some of the Chinese/Asian imports.
