Two Interior rear LED lights...

...when lowering top at a certain point these two rear lights automatically shut off. When it's just myself in the van I usually take the penthouse bed out for a roomier feel and I'd like to be able to use them with the top all the way down. Anyone know how to remedy this and how big of a task it is? Thanks

Huh. I've never heard of that in a SMB. Are you the original owner? Sounds like there is a pin switch somewhere that gets activated when the top goes up/down (like you'd have in a door for the dome light). If so, find that, remove it, and just connect the wires back together. If there aren't switches on the lights themselves then you'll need to add a manual switch somewhere. Either way, it's pretty easy. Post if you need help.

Yes, there was one of these switches installed with my SMB penthouse install last November. The purpose, obviously, is to keep the lights (pressure activated) from being turned on when the top comes down. The kill switch, for lack of a better term, is located on the passenger side under the upholstery in the middle of the van, directly under the penthouse lift arms which will apply pressure when the top comes down. I believe you can feel a slight bump there when the top is up and can even activate it by pressing down with your finger.

As joefromsf said, our SMB is the same. When we did our walkthrough, it didn't occur to me that this setup would be inconvenient. If I had it to do again, I would ask for a switch next to the porch light switch so that control of the lights is totally manual. We don't have the upper bed so pushing on the lights to turn them on/off doesn't work for us, and we don't need any kind of automatic on/off. We stick a sock into the slot where the switch is so that we can turn off the lights from below, but eventually I want a switch.
