NADA is terrible with reference to SMB. Sportsmobile has been very helpful in the past with assisting in valuation. Point them to the used site as well, or print some select ads so they can see what prices/value are.
Yeah, NADA seems to be giving less than %50 the general asking price of used SMB...so either SMB are selling for way more than their actual value or NADA is WAY off.
They will use Kelly Blue Book from SMB... not Kelly Blue Book . com
There are some stipulations like mileage, year, registration, etc. They were pleasant to work with however I figured out that for the amount of $$$ I would pay in interest alone, I could build one myself. So I am.
I just came back from credit union to obtain an auto loan in order to buy a SBM
if you don't buy with a dealer it is very complicated.(you need the sportsmobiles documents in order to evaluate the price of your van) But now with Nada, it should be ok, but when I went today, the agent did not find it on the Nada website
Do they proposed me a personal loan, and when I come back with the new tittle (with my name ) and the registration, they convert the personal to an auto loan with a better rate (2.99%).
SMB are on NADA. You have to go to RV and then "don't see your manufacturer" hit the "S" category and then it shows up. It's not on the main page.. It still doesn't have all available features... The big one is 4 Wheel Drive, sounds like you got it figured out though... goodluck
Nada is so totally inaccurate for SMBs, the exact opposite of what you want to take to a bank. Mine comes up as $35K... it's not even funny how far off that is.
When we bought our van I went through KOA (who actually uses Essex Credit, who then issued the loan through Bank of the West). Regardless of 3 companies getting involved, they at least knew what a Sportsmobile was immediately and accounted for things like the 4 wheel drive conversion. They used NADA as a starting point, but factored in some of the features not covered by NADA. The value still didn't come out to the actual purchase price, but it was close enough to make financing work. I tried doing all sorts of other loans through local credit unions, including equipment loans, and nothing else came close.
If you fill out a request through the KOA website someone from Essex will contact you. Hope that can help someone.
