Vehicle Assessment

I am interested in purchasing a fellow forum member's rig:
http://www.sportsmobileforum.com/vie...php?f=7&t=4005

SO under the advice of another forum member, and without stepping on anyone's toes, I would like to solicit the general SMBF population to provide me with their opinion of the above vehicle (what kind of shape is it in, what I should look for, what is going to need to be serviced/replaced soon - things of that nature) and what they think a fair price is for said vehicle.

Obviously everyone's opinions are going to be formed w/o seeing the vehicle in person - so all assessments are going to be limited in that regard. But I have a general idea of what I think The Grey Whale is worth, and I have some idea as to the required vehicle service looming on the horizon - I am new to the world of SMB and just wanted some seasoned opinions.

I would prefer to have all responses sent as PMs or emails - that way folks can speak candidly w/o fear of insulting either VegHead or myself.

A preemptive "Thank You" for all of the input.

Re: Vehicle Assessment

By the looks of the condition, and all the upgrades listed, it is worth every penny he is asking. My .02

basically my same thoughts - I just want to make sure I am not missing something or have over/under valued any of the extra goodies.............

trying to purchase a vehicle unseen is a little nerve racking - I am just looking for that extra push off the edge - and maybe someone to loan me some dough.

Make sure Veghead's SMB comes with that 12 pack of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale shown in his pics, or no deal, IMHO.

You need to contact the Bank of Dad, like my kids do.

Seriously, VegHead's van looks like a good deal.

How about this: you'll regret it if you don't.

In all seriousness, imagine waking up tomorrow and reading SOLD on that ad. I pined over my van for a good month before pulling the trigger, and then had negotiations and travel to set up... wish I'd done it sooner, glad it was not too late.

Also, I could loan money, but you won't like the interest rate!

Re: Vehicle Assessment

thanks for all your replies.

I have surrendered to the fact that I am not ready to make this purchase. Thankfully I did so on my own - and before I knew that VegHead sold the rig --- so my disappointment was not too sharp.

I will be in the market for a rig - most likely in the spring. I need to raise some capitol first so..........

again thanks for the input and I will be asking for you opinions again in the future.

cheers

Re: Vehicle Assessment

Well stick around in the mean time... can't be here very long without forming an opinion of your own!
