Wasp nest in furnace chamber

I noticed some yellow jackets flying in and out of the furnace exhaust pipe of our SMB and sure enough they made a home there. I was hoping the nest was limited to the pipe. I cleaned that out but could see the nest extended into the chamber of the furnace. Anyone else experience something like this? I'm not even sure the chamber can be opened up (Suburban NT-16SQ or NT-20SQ). Obviously need to get it totally cleaned out or else it will be a fire hazard.
Any thoughts on this? Do we need to replace the furnace?
Thanks!

I'd be tempted to fire it up and see what happens. With a charged garden hose nearby, you would probably be ok if the heater overheated, but it likely gets hotter when in use than from a smoking wasp nest. Good luck...........

Yep, I had that as well. Couldn't figure out why it would only work sometimes and then would shut off. I thought I had bad propane or spending most of my time at higher elevations that the Suburban Furnace was less than adequate at elevation. Nope, mud daubers.

Had the same problem with mud dauber wasps filling up the exhaust pipe. The furnace would shut down on its safeties. Took the outside trim piece off, broke up the mud with a long screwdriver while I held a shop vacuum nozzle next to the hole to suck out the dried mud.
