You inspired me to finally post about the things I do to prevent overnight freeze ups.

I had too many photos to fit it all into one post. Following some or all of these tips should get you through cold nights in the high desert. Are you here in Idaho too? In your pics it looks like you might have Idaho plates.

Hey everybody:
Took your advice this weekend. out in the high desert again and temp went down to 19 over night.
We filled the coffee pot the night before to ensure having coffee.
Opened the cabinet to the pump and water tank; also the doors to the sink, etc.
It all worked. Pump didn't freeze.
Thanks again,
Pete

Rapidz, we were our in the Oregon high desert too last week. I volunteer counting sage grouse on the leks for the ODFW. Got down to 15°F two nights. We didn't run the heat at night, and had no trouble. Unless it gets colder than that I think the two biggest things are getting at least a bit of insulation between the pipes and the outer wall, and keeping the cupboard and water pump area doors open. Glad it worked out for you.

You need to build her a custom bed like I did for our 60 pound Lab. She loves it, and it gives us a lot more floor space.
