I have Thule bars on top & have a cargo box or snowboards up there at times so I use the ladder to access that along with the solar panels. I've used mine to attach one end of a hammock as well.

I use mine all the time in summer to access kayaks and paddle boards. I've used it to gain higher ground for seeing wildlife better and even have taken pictures from the roof.
Now that I have a solar panel, I'll use it to gain access for cleaning.
It's been used as a rack for hanging things and it does look pretty cool.

My ladder is mounted on the rear. Gets used all the time, cleaning the bird poop off the solar panel, hang the sun shower on and to carry the rowing frame for my pontoon boat..

I use mine all the time. It's super handy to me. I'll never have another van without one.

The ladder is essential for me. I also use it for my grill which conveniently fits inside an aluminess box.

I didn't think I would use it until I came upon forums stating it's a must for so many reasons...SURE GLAD WE DID!!! Wife and I both stand on top of van for photo op's (give great vantage points etc..) Loading our canoe on and off, and just last year, wife and I took sleeping bags, a small cooler, camera+tripod, snacks and watched a meteor shower out in the country...all possible by that kick a$$ ladder...if you use the "search" feature on ladders you'll see some of those posts...
