What is this?

In the right of the photo, under the penthouse a cable lead from inside the roof of the penthouse that comes out, turns and then seems to dead end. To the left is my back up camera and 3rd brake light (which both have their own cable/wires).

Looks like two leads, maybe for a future spotlight?

Re: What is this?

I'm just guessing, but could it be the pre wire option for future solar panels? oclv

Re: What is this?

Uh, that looks like a cable coax. E.g. TV antenna.

Re: What is this?

Thanks for crushing my spirit Jage lol

Why would it have two separate terminals on the end then?

And why would there be a set of them front and rear for a tv antenna receiver of some sort?

The SMB also has the cable connection at the propane tank at the side door of the truck.

Im still hoping for solar panel pre-wire dang it. I will look at the build sheet again.

Re: What is this?

I wonder if that black strip under it is actually a piece of aluminum tape.

The "two ends" are one of those adaptors to be able to attach a coaxial cable to your grammama's TV, you know, the kind with VHF and UHF screws for antenna wires, that your dad had to use to plug in his Atari?

It looks like they're using it in reverse to makeshift an antenna in the PH. I'd guess the other connection at the propane might be for "shore cable" if there is such a thing. In theory there should be one or two coax ends inside the van, likely wherever they had the TV.

Re: What is this?

Yeah, that could be... i hope you're wrong.. that's so ghetto.

I just looked at the build sheet and it said nothing about solar... but did have the cable tv checked off. There's two coax "ports" for a tv in the inside of the rig yes.. for the 'hardwire' landline' so to speak. Yep, i knew all about that.

I guess im just wishful thinking outloud..... we'll see what transpires.

Re: What is this?

Maybe it's the SMB equivalent of a aluminum-foil hat. You know, to keep the aliens from controlling you with mindwaves.
