Thanks for pictures which address one of my questions regarding headroom when awning is installed low. Your Ford van, although raised, is probably about same as low roof ProMaster.

By the way, I didn't know so much cargo could go on top of Penthouse roof. Nice setup.

Oh, and BTW, another consideration is how well an awning stores on the outside. Pal had one that hooked on the raingutter and a tree reached out and tried to take it off. Pretty much totaled it. Maybe some fit more closely to the van; his seemed to stick out a bit. And this might not be a concern if you don't go offroad much (or pay attention

).

I attached a 4" ABS pipe with end caps to the top of my running board on the passenger side where it's very out of the way and that holds poles and tarps and guys, and eliminates the problem of wet muddy tarps being in the van.

I'm thinking about doing a Fox Wing by OxTent on the passenger side. It would give me rear end coverage, too. They also sell no-see-um and privacy panels that zip on, too.

Has anyone ever seen one on a van?

Thanks. One of the gripes about the Ford is you need to extend the awning legs enough to open the passenger and side barn doors. Without much angle, water pools a bit.

Maybe I missed it, but no one mentioned using the Fiamma leg mounts on the van body. This has worked great for us, even after 5 days in windy Baja.

I think one member had issues with the side mounts and made adaptors...Maybe Mike?
