Which Generation E350 is best

Hi, new here and honestly spent a good 30 minutes searching but couldn't find a clear answer to my dilemma.

My plan is to purchase an E350 (5.4L) but I can't seem to find any comparisons or preferences between the 03-07 vs 08-14.

For example, I'm specifically considering a 2wd 2007 and 2011

Which of these are better for doing 4x4 conversions? Is there a significant performance/cost difference?

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

-Terry

‘O8+ has the larger grill. ‘09+ has the updated dash. Otherwise, not many changes.

The single advantage of the ‘07 is if it has RSC it will have a full float rear axle.

08+ has the much-improved front brakes and suspension, as well as 8-lug wheels and higher weight rating for the E150 model. If you are converting to 4x4 then the improved front components don’t really matter. And presumably you wouldn’t be considering a 150 either way to convert, so those improvements don’t matter as much either.
