Early Sept was archery season for Rocky Mountain Mule Deer and Elk.   Muleys, like these on Tarpiscan Rd, were around, but didn't catch site of any elk most of which hang out in a protected "Game Reserve" section near Colockum Pass until deep snow and thin forage send them downhill in winter.
