Hi - just saw this. Loading our boats solo would be pretty hard. Ours are 18' & 19'. We have rollers on the back rack bar with cradles up front. Wife gets on roof, I hand up bow of kayak to her - it rests briefly on a small mat on rear edge of top. I lift the stern as she lifts bow and we slide the boat along the rollers to final spot. She ends up doing the final drag as the stern becomes too high for me to reach from the ground. Once in place she comes down and I go up for final positioning and strapping. Not quite sure how to suggest loading your hard-shell solo. Joe

Looking to load my boats while travelling solo. 14' hardshell and 8.5' whitewater kayak. Do you load yours solo? The play boat is not so tough but that 14' is another story. I'm 5'5". My SMB has a side ladder. Any pointers to share. Thanks very much for your time.
