Hells Canyon
I drove from Portland to Enterprise, Oregon and on to Cow Creek Bridge in the Imnaha Canyon over the Veterans Day Holiday. It's a beautiful canyon and what I believe is some of the best of what Hells Canyon has to offer.

There was plenty of snow in the Wallowas down all the way to Enterprise and Joseph.

The drive in is really quite spectacular.

It's really nice to have the other seat swivel now.

Once you get to the Cow Creek Bridge you can continue on to the Snake River on a primitive road. I was there to fish the little river, so I didn't drive the extra way. Once you're at the bridge, there is a trail that takes you through a spectacular little canyon.

It's about a 4.5 mile hike through the canyon to the Snake River. Here's a few shots of the upper Snake...

Saw plenty of spawning salmon in the river....

Fishing was a little slow. That part of the country is still waiting on the seasonal rains to really help push the fish runs up. I still managed to swing up one steelhead on a fly.

On the way home I met up with some friends on the Klickitat.....

Re: Hells Canyon
What beautiful country. I spent part of a summer 35 years ago in Joseph on a cattle ranch (old girlfriend) and loved the place.

Sign on the way into town read "This place is like heaven to us, so don't drive like hell through it."

Thanks for sharing the trip.

Neat looking area for sure. I'm glad I'm fairly close to Oregon cause retirement is closer and I want to see it. Thanks
