Mud flaps - thoughts??
Hate to say it but I'm thinking about some mud flaps on the van. I know, I know they don't look cool! The lower rockerpanels have been getting moderately abused from the mud/rocks on my road and w/ the Moab Red, chips/scratches show up a bit more

Saw your van is sporting mud flaps in the recent Death Valley pics. Your thoughts? What are they, are they van specific or did you get some the universal ones?

Can I git some with Yosemite Sam on 'em or that classy haulin *** lady?

Wait, you just said I'm not cool.

no - you're the epitome of cool, just not the rig!! Ah, just kidding....

but seriously, any issues w/ your flaps other than no chrome trucker chick logo?

I guess I never really realized that they weren't standard on SMBs.

I had a set on my F250 and one of them rotted off while traveling which caused me to replace them at an offroad shop who only carried these little form fitting ones custom designed for the F250... well the sucked and after the windshield on my TJ was lost I "upgraded" to larger generic square ones which have seemed to work better- not dining room table sized, but certainly wider than the tires.

Otherwise I have no real input on flaps vs. no flaps.

Never could figure out the rationale behind the chrome naked lady logo. Is that to let women know that the guy inside likes naked women? Pretty much a no-brainer there for most guys. Would women be attracted to a guy with chrome naked lady mudflaps? I've often pondered this. I don't have naked ladies on my car and I've done pretty well with the ladies over the years just the same. Maybe my bachelor life would have been much more 'interesting' had I let all the potential naked ladies know that I appreciated them by putting one of their chrome logos on my vehicle?

I'll try to get some pics taken and posted of the quick release mud flaps on my FJ60. I need to do it very soon since someone just made a deal to buy it from me.

Mud Flaps
Just a thought but have you thought about having those areas sprayed with chip guard? I had 3M film put on my van around the fender wells & rocker panels. The film protects everything from chipping but on tight curve areas, it tends to lift at the edges. Once it gets dirt on the adhesive side, you have to trim that area away. If I had it to do over again (and that might happen), I'd probably have the chip guard sprayed on.

Just something to consider.

what's chip guard? any info??

Maybe it's this kind of product. A friend said he had this put on before a trip to Alaska. Also the stuff they use on aircraft windshields for the headlight covers. ... -PPF/Home/
