We took a little camping trip this last 3 day weekend into the Mojave Desert.
Had a great campsite

The best campsites with views on the north side of the Grand Canyon are NOT in the National Park, they are dispersed sites in the National Forest that border the Park, they are close to the North...

Again, it is a matter of perspective. I see LOTS of Mexican family type cars on the Baja Mil course before, during, and after the races.
Actually it is usually easier to drive in the desert NEXT...

We went ~ 700 miles south of the border down the Baja California penninsula over X-Mass.
The road (Mex 1) is as scary as ever, but the beach was wonderful

~$3.80 a gallon for diesel right now here in N. AZ. I believe diesel is always more expensive in the winter because of the added anti-gelling agent when its cold.

Actually, the way I feel right now, with the road being paved the SMB IS a good choice. :a6:
And the Subaru gets a little small for 2 adults and 2 dogs when the wind blows for 11 days strait!

Thanks, Scatter Ive got a Borg-Warner 1756000007 Model 1356 transfer case.
(PS- going to Gonzaga for 11 days at the end of Nov, the pavement is now within 10 miles!)

If it is anything like the awning mount on my 03 E-350 SMB I would avoid it at all costs.
It cracked both sheet metal body mounts on the first rough road I took it on.

I am very unsatisfied with their work on my SMB.
They installed the wrong hubs on my SMB and would not warranty their work in any...

I installed a 10,000 lb 2" receiver hitch on the front of the van and put the bike rack up front.
The only downside is the loss of some headlights at night, if needed I can switch it to the back...
