KenInRockwall,

These posts are all kind of jumbled and it appears you didn't see my post where I in fact solved my problem which wasn't a problem with the system at all, just my ignorance due to...

I've seen that AMP brand override switch, but I wasn't aware that it returns to auto operation in the next door cycle after 30 minutes. I guess that's a good thing if you would be prone to forgetting...

Big_ern_101,

I'm kind of backing off of criticizing AMP too much at this point given what I've found out about Sportsmobile's very non-standard install of the running boards.

You are right...

Greg, you're guess was right on the money per my other post regarding the cutoff switch I "discovered" on my van dashboard. Thanks for that suggestion and all the other info you provided. It really...

All this still has me confused wondering what function the relay plays in the process of extending and retracting the steps, and how it accomplishes that. I'm going to get back out to the van later...

Given those diagrams, I think you must be right and I was upside down in the way I was looking at the connections.

I'm still not sure what the relay does exactly. Does it make sense that,...

Referring to the wiring diagram on the relay in the photo I posted, two of the pins, 87 and 87a, have two red wires attached to them. I'm thinking that one controller is attached to 87, the other to...

Greg,

I think you may be on the right track here, although the manufacturer website says it is a "SPDT" relay. You can see an electrical diagram for it in the 3rd of the 4 photos I posted....

BIr_er_101,

I fully agree both controllers most likely did not die at the same time. In fact the more I read about it from you and other sources, the more convinced I am it's something else...

Hi All,

I have a 2017 MB Sprinter that Sportsmobile West built out for us in early 2018. Included in the build were the AMP PowerStep running boards. They have worked flawlessly until...

Brand new (almost) DTE Pedal Box. I installed it temporarily on my 2017 Sprinter V6. I didn't actually mount it to the dash or anything, I just connected the wiring harness and tested it out on a...
