Re: Moving to somewhere snowy - should I get 4 x 4?

I grew up in Alaska and northern Washington St. We had 2WD, and 4WD, vehicles. Snow gets somewhat "sticky" the colder it gets so a 2WD was fine, but I really liked the times we had the 4WD.

In...

Re: TIRE CHOICE

Have you noticed a difference in fuel economy? From the photo it looks like they are brand new so I'm assuming how they wear is still in question. I'm wondering if they would still be good for a...

Re: TIRE CHOICE

Just FYI, I was really interested in the Toyo Open Country (I have them on my VW Baja), but Les Schwab no longer has it in the 315.

TIRE CHOICE

We're at about 35,000 miles on our 2007 4X4 SMB. My choice for tires at the time of the build was the BFG All-Terrain 16" 315's. They have been a good tire for the most part, but, due to some wear...

I just ordered a Moto Tote Sport hitch mounted carrier. I really liked the design. It should be in at the latter part of July, or the beginning of August. Here is a pic of the unit....

Re: New Toy for my SMB

Yes. My garage space is limited for a variety of reasons. Also there are a certain times where a stand up/fold up trailer can be useful when on the road.

Re: New Toy for my SMB

I think so. The "Stinger" trailer I have is REALLY close to the ground, and it has no suspension at all. I think the Kendon's at least have a leaf spring to handle some bigger holes and rocks that...

Re: New Toy for my SMB

That's the question of the day.... The bike is around 450 - 500 lbs. Versa Haul makes a hitch mounted carrier for "sport bikes" that is rated at 600 lbs. I have to attach an extension to clear the...
