I have the cobra with the hidden mount in my van, along with a 2M/70cm icom 5100. I also use DMR, but thats just geek stuff. For the antenna, I use the firestick mounted on my Aluminess front...

These are OEM-like housings with pretty powerful LED bulbs....They are brighter than stock for sure....But certainly not the range of Scott's set up...The pigtail coming out of the housing is cooling...

Some updated interior work just finished. Thanks to the help on this board, we've added the Bogart Eng. Trimetric monitor set up to manage/track solar and usage...that wouldnt have been possible...
